Bill DuncanPresident of White Oak Landscapes |
Bill demonstrated his interest in landscape design as a child by creating his first landscape at 10 years old on the family property in Centreville, Delaware, where he still lives as a fourth generation owner of the property now known as Elizabeth Gardens, home to the White Oak offices. The extensively landscaped property displays Bill’s passion for landscape design.
Bill followed this passion by starting a landscaping company in 1978. Although formally trained in landscape design at the University of Delaware, Bill’s natural artistic talent cannot be taught. His expert plant knowledge comes from 40 years of experimenting with plants in every situation imaginable. When talking about landscaping, "ordinary" is not in his vocabulary. Bill’s style of landscaping has often been described as "artistry in the garden." He prefers to work with his clients on a personal level, and has developed a reputation for delivering exactly what they want where others have failed. He dwells on maintaining high ethical standards and integrity, never failing to exceed his clients expectations.
Now, with over 25 years in the landscape design and construction business, he has brought another generation of designers into the business to teach his trade.>

Christina PowellDesign Consultant |
Christina’s passion for home redecorating began in 1989 with a historic home in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The nine years working on that home was the beginning of her vast education of rebuilding of the structure down to the appropriate fine decorative details. Over the last 20 years, Christina has been devoted to bringing out the character and spirit of the many homes she has restored and redecorated. At White Oak, Christina specializes in bringing depth and warmth to a home through color selection and elements such as beautiful woods, wall finishes and furnishings.
"I've come to believe that every building has a life and spirit of its own. I take great care to keep this in mind when redecorating. My goal is to enhance the style of the home while transforming the space to reflect the client’s personality and lifestyle. Each person who uses the space should feel comfortable and at home. When designing I use the whole color palette. While neutrals have their place, I believe that every person has certain colors that inspire or relax them or lift their spirits and they should be surrounded by those colors. The White Oak philosophy gives me the freedom to be creative and design spaces that are more than text book and it keeps me excited about each project."
